Schoolies Week at Kidz Prints: A Week of Fun, Confidence & “Big School” Adventures!

At Kidz Prints, we believe that preparing children for school should be joyful, meaningful, and full of playful learning opportunities. That’s why Schoolies Week has become one of the most loved transition programs in our centre — a week that helps children step confidently toward their next big chapter.

Last week, our preschoolers enjoyed a series of exciting activities designed to help them experience what “big school life” feels like. From wearing uniforms to practising early school routines, the children were fully immersed in a fun and encouraging learning environment.

Wearing Their “Big School” Uniforms

One of the highlights was the chance to dress up in school uniforms. Some children proudly wore their own uniforms, while others borrowed ours — and the smiles said it all. Wearing uniforms helped them imagine themselves as confident, capable school students. 

Lunchboxes & Independent Routines

We also invited children to bring their own lunchboxes, giving them a taste of the daily routines they will soon experience at primary school. They practised opening containers, organising their food, and managing their own little responsibilities throughout the day. 

“Mini Canteen” Role-Play

One of the children’s favourite activities was our pretend canteen. Educators gave them play money, and they used it to “buy” sausage rolls and snacks. This imaginative experience introduced basic numeracy, communication, social interaction, and essential confidence-building skills — all while having a lot of fun! 

Reading & Writing Time

Throughout the week, teachers incorporated early literacy and writing experiences to help children strengthen the foundational skills they’ll need in school. These activities were designed to spark excitement around learning while supporting each child’s development at their own pace. 

A Week Filled with Excitement & New Confidence

The energy in the centre was contagious — children spoke proudly about “going to big school,” and many couldn’t wait to put their uniforms on again the next day. Moments like these remind us why transition-to-school programs are so important. They help children feel capable, confident, and ready for the changes ahead.
