Staying Safe by the Sea – A Special Visit from Surf Life Saving NSW

At Kidz Prints, safety education is just as important as academic learning—and this week, our children had a very special opportunity to learn about beach safety from the professionals!

We were thrilled to welcome the team from Surf Life Saving NSW, who delivered an engaging and educational Water Safety Program designed especially for children. This program is part of their mission to reach communities most at-risk of coastal drowning, ensuring everyone has access to life-saving knowledge.

Through fun, interactive activities, the children learned:

  • How to identify safe and unsafe areas at the beach

  • The role of lifeguards and how to spot them

  • What the red and yellow flags mean

  • What to do if they’re ever in trouble in the water

One of the highlights of the day was an exciting role-play rescue activity, where children acted out beach scenarios and practiced calling for help, lying still to float, and being “rescued” by our visiting lifesavers. It was not only educational, but full of laughter and teamwork!

These real-life skills are so important for children growing up in Australia, where beach visits are a beloved part of family life. We’re proud to be part of a community that prioritises safety and empowers children with the confidence to enjoy the ocean responsibly.

Thank you to Surf Life Saving NSW for such a valuable and fun experience! 🏖️🏊‍♀️
