Celebrating Gratitude: A Heart-Warming Thanksgiving at Kidz Prints

At Kidz Prints Preschool, we believe in celebrating the wonderful cultures, stories, and traditions that make our community so diverse and unique. This week, we came together for a very special celebration — Thanksgiving, inspired by and planned in collaboration with some of our American families.

This experience wasn’t just about festivities — it was about connection, learning, and appreciation.

Learning Through Culture & Experience

Our educators thoughtfully planned hands-on, age-appropriate activities to bring the Thanksgiving spirit to life:

Edible Turkey Creations — Children in the Kangaroo Room explored food, creativity, and fine motor skills while building turkey treats.

Thanksgiving Craft Projects — In the Koala Room, children created themed artworks to express gratitude and learn the meaning behind the celebration.

Storytelling & Sharing — One of our families generously brought in apple pie and shared meaningful Thanksgiving stories, helping children learn through real experiences and family voice.

From Their Hearts: What Gratitude Means ❤️

One of the most touching moments of the day was hearing the children share what they were thankful for. Their answers were sincere, funny, heart-melting, and beautifully simple — just as gratitude should be.

“I’m thankful for cuddling my mama.”

“Mommy and daddy giving me hugs.”

“My daddy making ice cream for me.”

“Giving hugs to someone.”

“I’m thankful for where I live because I love going to the beach.”

“I’m thankful for my beautiful family — my mum, my dad, my brother, my dog… Bobby!”

These joyful statements remind us how meaningful small moments can be through the eyes of a child.
