We are thrilled to announce that enrolments for 2026 at Kidz Prints Pre-School are now open! Next year brings an incredible opportunity for all families with the introduction of the Australian Government’s “3 Day Guarantee” for subsidised early childhood education and care (ECEC).
What is the 3 Day Guarantee?
From January 2026, the Government will replace the current Child Care Subsidy (CCS) Activity Test with a new rule that ensures every child is eligible for at least 72 hours (3 days) of subsidised ECEC per fortnight, regardless of parents’ work, study, or activity hours.
Families who meet existing activity requirements or exemptions can still access up to 100 hours per fortnight (about 5 days per week) of subsidised care.
Why This is Great News for You and Your Child
· More Affordable Education – Even if one or both parents work part-time, casually, or are at home, your child will now be eligible for more subsidised days.
· Better School Readiness – Research shows children benefit most when attending 3 or more days of quality early education, building stronger language, social, and emotional skills.
· Consistent Learning Routines – More days means less disruption, stronger friendships, and a smoother transition to primary school.
· Significant Cost Savings – For example, a family earning $90,000 per year with one child in 3 days of care could save up to $11,400** per year compared to 2025 rates.
**Financial Relief for Families
Annual income | Better-off per week | Annual better-off (50 weeks of care) |
$90,000 | $230 | $11,400 |
$120,000 | $220 | $10,630 |
$140,000 | $200 | $10,110 |
For example, Sarah and Alex have one child enrolled in childcare for 3 days per week. Their combined family income is $90,000 per year. Sarah works full-time and Alex works 8 hours per week. Previously, they were only eligible for 18 hours of subsidised care per week.
Under the 3 Day Guarantee, they will now receive 36 hours per week (72 hours per fortnight), saving them around $230 per week ($11,400 per year)*.
*Disclaimer: According to the Department of Education’s Fact Sheet which assumes the family has one child in care for 36 hours per week, 50 weeks per year paying the average projected Centre-Based Day Care hourly fee for 2025-2026. ‘Savings’ figures have been rounded. Annual ‘savings’ amounts do not align with weekly ‘savings’ amounts due to rounding. Figures rounded to the nearest $10.
